TOZO T9 Wireless Earbuds

Today we will consider just such a model, namely wireless headphones TOZO T9. Of course, you won’t find high-end sound in them. Still, they are noteworthy because they have many useful features in modern life: wireless, compact, water- and dust-resistant, with noise cancellation and long battery life.

Design

The model comes in black and white. The case is made in the style of classic vertical headphones with a small slit at the bottom, where the microphone hole is located. On the outside, there is an inscription in the former color – “TOZO”. At the top is a hole for the ENC microphone, which is responsible for noise isolation. The front surface is glossy. The reverse is matte. On the inside of the headphone leg, there are two charging contacts. On the head, mark “R” and “L” for identification between the right and left. This is important because the control of the left and right earpiece, although in many ways similar, has differences.

The charging case is similar in style: the top cover is glossy with a big “TOZO” inscription in the center. The side edges and bottom are made of matte plastic. The base is covered with technical information and marked with a QR code. The charging jack is on the left side, on the back of the case. Under the notch for easy opening of the case lid, there are three LED indicators of the charging status.

Protection

The headphones are water and dust resistant to IPX7. This means they are not afraid of raindrops, splashes, or short-term contact with water and sweat. Such characteristics allow you to use them safely during sports activities and not be scared to accidentally damage them by spilling water.

Important! The charging case is not waterproof – even when closed avoid contact with water.

Ergonomics

TOZO T9 are TWS in-ear earbuds. This shape allows them to fit securely in your ears and not fall out when running, jumping, and in everyday life. In addition, the ergonomics of the housing allow the surface to fit more snugly against the skin. Repeating the curves of the inner shell of the ear, TOZO T9 fits comfortably, does not interfere, and locks securely.

How to wear these Bluetooth headphones correctly – the set comes with 6 silicone ear caps in different sizes, so choose the most comfortable fit before use.

In-channel design provides a secure fit in the ear and freedom – earrings, glasses, and headgear edges. All this will not touch and interfere. For comfortable use, it is important to choose the right size of caps – they are made of soft material that creates reduced pressure on the walls of the ears and, therefore, longer does not cause discomfort from wearing.

To get to the headphones, you need to pull out the box of their case. Under it, you will find the manual for the wireless headphones Tozo T9. The compact box, white on the outside, and black on the inside, is divided into two sectors:

1. On the top left is the headphones. Below is the charging case;
2. The right side is filled with a container with 6 sets of silicone pads of different sizes. Underneath them is a not large cardboard package with a USB Type-C charging cable.

Important! The package does not include a wireless charger – only a USB Type-C cable (the box may change over time). However, the manufacturer recommends using this model wireless charger compatible with charging headphones – TOZO W1 Wireless Charger 10W or similar brands.

Sound

It isn’t easy to evaluate the sound, but we can say right away that this model is not for music lovers but for people who lead active lives and want to work out and do things with music. Now to the facts: the size of the speaker TOZO T9 is 8 mm. This is not a bad indicator for this form factor, but it is important to understand that the bigger the speaker, the more distinctly low bass values will sound. Therefore, this solution is unlikely to suit fans of rap with bass and dance music.

But many problems can be eliminated by manual adjustment of the equalizer and necessarily by proper selection of silicone tabs. They should fit snugly, not letting in extraneous noise and creating the right acoustics. Unfortunately, there is no instruction on how to work with an equalizer. Here, everything is individual, but after spending time for adjustment, TOZO T9 can surprise you with good sound for their price segment and not pretend to be high-quality headphone sound.

If you are not ready to take the time to set up, the sound can be tough, take this point into account.

Microphone

TOZO T9 is better with the microphone than with the sound. It is noticeable even by the dry characteristics: in-channel shape, availability of interchangeable caps for passive noise cancellation, and 4 microphones. Now let’s break it down in more detail:

• Each headphone has two microphones, one at the top and one at the bottom;
• The bottom microphone should be facing the corner of your lips – this is the best position to capture your voice;
• The top microphone is responsible for noise cancellation. This model is represented by ENC technology. It is often used in gaming headsets because it can reduce ambient noise by up to 35 dB. This is done by synchronizing the noise-canceling ENC and a conventional microphone. The processor first analyzes all incoming sounds, passing the received voice and noise through algorithms and producing the initial signal with directional voice amplification, cutting off some noise and reducing their volume level.

As for a model for less than $30, the presence of active noise reduction is a big plus. Judging by the reviews of owners, the noise canceller works great. Indoors you will be able to hear the interlocutor well, and the interlocutor you. Outdoors, the comfort level is expected to decrease but remains at a high level.

It’s important to be careful when crossing the road or engaging in activities that require attention. Outside sounds are blocked well, and the lack of a transparent mode that allows you to hear what’s happening around you in the street requires extra caution.

How to Pair TOZO T9 Earbuds With Devices

The method of pairing TOZO T9 with your smartphone is Bluetooth. This allows you to forget about the radio signal adapter and other gadgets used in different ways of connection without contact. And although Bluetooth is not the best technology for reliability and speed of information transfer, in everyday life, it is more convenient because all modern devices have this wireless interface.

The headphones got Bluetooth 5.3 module with all the advantages of the standard. True, users have reported that older revisions have a Bluetooth 5.0 sensor, so when buying, carefully study the product description if you need a modern interface that allows you to connect multiple output devices to one sound source.

Bluetooth 5.3 also supports a variety of headset and stereo headset profiles HSP, HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP. In addition, the model has built-in stereo speakers, which is important because it allows for high-quality stereo sound during calls and significantly reduces latency by increasing transmission speeds.

Connecting the wireless headphones is easy – the one-step pairing method is implemented. It is enough to take both headphones out of the charging case and independently connect. After that, open the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone or laptop and start searching for new devices. The name of the headphones is “TOZO-T9” select it and press connect. That’s it – now the headset should attach itself to the linked device every time you take it out of the case.

Important: Sometimes, it is impossible to connect both earbuds – only one works. You can try putting them back in the charging case and trying again by disconnecting and reconnecting them to your smartphone.

Functionality and Controls

For earphones used in everyday life, it is important to have external control and functionality of the device. TOZO-T9, in this respect, has:

• Availability of a charging case for transportation;
• Has voice prompts. Recognizes commands well and can call or perform other voice commands;
• It can be used as a noise-canceling headset;
• All control can be done without a phone;
• There is a call pick up/reset function;
• There is support for fast charging.

Consider the touch control model for the left and right earbuds:

• One-touch: Start and pause a track, accept/reset call. Same for L and R;
• Two taps: next track (R), previous track (L);
• Three taps: voice assistant. Same for L and R;
• Press and hold for 2 seconds: volume control adds (R) and decreases (L).

As you can see, you can use the Tozo T9 headphones without taking out your smartphone. But remember that the sensors are very sensitive, and an accidental touch can pause the tracks. This also applies to wet hair during sports.

Battery Life and Charging Time

An important parameter for wireless headphones is battery life. It is important to understand that the battery can fail over time, so you should buy with a reserve initially.

The battery life of the Tozo T9 model is 8 hours on a single charge. Not much, but importantly, it is an entire 8 hours at 60% volume. Things are worse with the charging case. The claimed lifetime is 64 hours. However, real tests showed a different result – up to 20 hours of correct work.

We are pleased with the presence of wireless and fast charging. The manufacturer says that using Fast Charging can be charged in less than 2 hours, and it’s true – the actual figures are 1.5 hours.

If you need the headphones urgently using the cable, 10 minutes of charging is enough for 1.5 hours of listening to music. So the headphones have no problem lasting all day, and if necessary, they can be charged in a short period.
