And finally, we will try to answer who will be suitable for these headphones because it is almost impossible to find a universal model in this segment.

First Impression

The unusual design of the model and the concerns about comfort are evident at once. However, everything is good – they look and wear well. Inside the Crystal Buds is a Bluetooth 5.3 that provides a stable connection and noise-canceling microphones. The battery life allows most people to use them all day, and the water protection will enable you to use them in the rain and when playing sports.

TOZO Crystal Buds are a good option for earbuds for morning runs in any weather. You can make calls in them, but the decent quality is obtained with moderate noise – you will be heard well, but you are unlikely.

Design

Let’s start our review of the TOZO Crystal Buds with the appearance since the company has mentioned style more than once in advertisements. And yes, the model got at least an unusual design – they have a small “lug” at the bottom, although previously, the company did not use this place, putting everything in the lid above the headphone head.

But the new design looks good, albeit unusual. As before, the front side is made of glossy material, and the inside is matte. Nothing extra is on the outer side – only a big “TOZO” inscription. The transition is made with the cut smoothed edges, on which, exactly in the very protruding “ear” is the microphone hole. Yes, this is how the company decided to disguise and bring the input device forward.

The inner side is also without frills – except for the two gold-plated charging contacts, the letters “L” and “R” and the microphone hole, there is nothing here.

The charging case is stylish with a flip design. TOZO draws attention to the transparent top cover but is more pleased with the presence of a normal digital indication of the charging case – no LED gauges. Headphone charge is shown in segments.

Near the groove for your finger, there is an inscription on the cover – “TOZO”. The charging jack USB Type-C is located at the bottom.

The color scheme raises questions – on the manufacturer’s site, and marketplace model is presented exclusively in black, which is not typical for the brand. Perhaps the new colors will appear later.

Externally, the model strongly resembles the NC7 and by the characteristics, too. Inside the surface is matte, in the headphone slots – glossy.

Protection

Compared to the NC7s mentioned earlier, the Crystal Buds are better – they are IPX7 certified. Please note – the tests were conducted only for water protection. Nothing was said about dust resistance.

This safety standard allows you not to worry about the device – drops of sweat, water jets at any angle, and even brief immersion in water will not cause any damage to the headphones. Crystal Buds, for their price, offer excellent protection for everyday use and are great for jogging even in heavy rain.

Ergonomics

The company has long said that it designs the case for maximum comfort. The new design is no exception. Despite the unfamiliar appearance in the ear, the headphones look very harmonious, repeating the contours of the auricle and causing no discomfort.

Also, remember that these are vacuum headphones, and you will feel them. Question when and TOZO with it all is good – their silicone caps practically create no pressure on the ear canal, so you can wear them longer without noticing the presence of a foreign body.

Important! The standard advice is to choose your earphone cushion size. It will make users more comfortable and passive noise isolation more effective.

The model is not the smallest, although this does not affect the comfort too much. If you’re looking for a lightweight headset for small ears, consider the TOZO A1 Mini, but they lack water protection.

Sound

The sound of Crystal Buds is high, considering the device’s price. We want to note that there is no noise reduction like in NC7 – the algorithms of artificial intelligence process only your voice during the conversation, rejecting extraneous sounds. It means that your interlocutor will hear you and you too, but we advise you to avoid places with many cars or hum – the passive noise isolation handles voices, not engine noise.

Sound quality is good due to the modern Bluetooth interface 5.3 and stereo speakers. Matching your size to the Crystal Buds earmuffs also helps create the right acoustics inside your ear.

Initially, the earbuds’ sound is average – no pronounced bass or treble. But by using the official TOZO Sound app on Android and iOS, you can adjust them with an equalizer to suit your musical taste. The app is a bit crude, but it does its job.

As a headset for the office Crystal Buds is good – those around you will not hear them, but for gaming, they are not the best option – high latency, it is better to choose TOZO G1.

Microphone

There are four microphones, two in each earpiece. The AI can pick up extraneous noise and allows the interlocutor to hear only your speech. But sometimes, some exclamations and emotions are lost, and the voice does not sound like in real life.

Crystal Buds provide good noise cancellation for calls (only for calls) and, in its price range, can be considered one of the best options to buy.

Connecting

Like past models, TOZO Crystal Buds support one-step pairing:

1. Turn on Bluetooth on iOS, Windows, and Android devices;
2. Remove the headphones from the case;
3. Select the “TOZO Crystal Buds” device and click “Connect.

Functionality

The TOZO Crystal Buds headset has the following features:

• Hold: reset the current call, “L” – decrease, “R” – increase audio volume.

The response is good, and false responses are not noticed.

Battery

At 50% volume, the headphones last up to 7.5 hours on a single charge. With a case, audio playback increases to 30 hours. The data is true, but usually, people listen to music louder, so the operating time is reduced to 6 hours.
