However, using model A1 in transport, noisy places, or for games will not be too convenient – they have no active noise cancellation, and sound quality for these purposes is inadequate.

But considering the segment A1 Bluetooth earbuds are affordable headphones with water protection, microphones, and a compact, stylish design, the model can be recommended for purchase.

Design

Let’s start our review of the TOZO A1 Mini wireless headphones’ appearance by saying that they are produced in black, blue, dark green, pink, khaki, and white and look good in all colorings. Visually, the headphones are sure to please fans of minimalist design. Everything here is so neat and fitted to the earbuds’ shape that there are no unnecessary curves or details. Not even the brand’s standard “TOZO” lettering on the main unit. It’s just a black, beautifully cut edges headphone.

The outer part, the command touch sensor, is a little lighter. Underneath it is a blue connection status LED – on both the left and right earbuds.

On the inside, there are no frills either – two gold-plated charging contacts and “L” and “R” for navigation between them. The model looks elegant – even the microphone holes are not visible to others.

TOZO’s charging case is always trying to make it as small and easy to carry as possible. This time it was an easy task – the headphones weigh less than 4 grams and don’t need a big case. It will easily fit in any pocket, as it is smaller than a little finger.

The charging case is made in a simple but elegant style: neat cut edges, minimal inscriptions, and unnecessary elements. The top cover has a glossy “TOZO” inscription. All of the technical information that used to be written at the bottom is now on the inside of the cover. On the inside, the surface is also matte. There are markings of grooves for the left and right earpieces. For convenience, there is a special notch for your finger to lift the lid. Under it, four LED indicators show the battery level.

Because of the size and the brand’s love for compactness, getting the headphones out of the charging slot is difficult at first – they’re slippery and small. So don’t tweak them, so you don’t scratch them. Instead, use a handkerchief or a t-shirt cloth for a comfortable grip. Over time, getting them out will become much easier, and the case will remain smooth with no scratches or chips.

Protection

It is strange to see water and sweat protection in headphones in this price range, but it is there. Let’s say right away that even the presence of the protective level does not mean that the device should be deliberately exposed to some load. And IPX5 is not perfect protection. That standard says that the headphones can handle moisture from any angle. But they are not designed to withstand streams of pressurized water, much less immersion in water!

Important! Just like the other TOZO models, the charging case can’t get wet. It does not have any protection against moisture.

Ergonomics

Not all people like earplugs, as they create excessive pressure on the walls of the ear and put – pressure. But TOZO corrected this problem: the set includes 3 interchangeable silicone earpieces. Take your time and choose the best ones. It will not only eliminate uncomfortable feelings but also make the passive noise isolation better and the sound clearer.

At the same time, the company’s engineers worked well on the shape – it fits perfectly in the ear.

Please note: The correct positioning of the headphone is with the silicone tip downwards. After fitting, we recommend turning them clockwise as far as they will go to fit into the ear canal.

Even the box looks small. Inside, pretty much the standard set for this brand of headphones. A guide for use, under it on top – a case with headphones in a foam mold and below cardboard pouch with a charging wire and a bag with nozzles. Compared with older and more expensive models, there is a noticeable saving of space – earbuds are immediately in the case, and silicone pads are only 3 pairs. However, usually, there were 6 and a separate plastic pouch. However, everything you need is there, and the charger is not included.

The model is equipped with USB Type-C, which supports fast charging. Wireless charging is also supported. The manufacturer recommends looking closely at the compact TOZO W3 Mini Wireless Charger from its model range. Still, you can choose another – most importantly, one not too powerful and necessarily with support for charging headphones.

Sound

It is important to understand that the smaller the headphone, the smaller the size of the speaker, which means that its capabilities are physically limited. Here the size of the unit is only 6 mm, which is frankly not enough: usually, in headphones of similar design, the size of the speaker is a little more than 9 mm.

However, these are dry figures, and the device’s price should also be remembered. But TOZO A1 Mini managed to surprise: stereo speakers, each earphone sounds separate, are not connected, can provide quite a high volume and, most importantly, sound purity. Yes, it can’t even compete with expensive in-ear headphones, let alone full-sized ones, but for its weight, the sound was better than expected.

Also, let’s not forget about the silicone inlays with reduced pressure on the walls of the ear and passive noise cancellation – these are the little things, but they also make this model stand out among the competitors.

As for TOZO itself, it says that the A1 Mini is quite capable of delivering quality sound and a wide sound range despite the size of the speaker. But the company’s word is nothing compared to the owners’ reviews. And they claim that for this price, these babies give very clear sound, have good bass, and in them, you can hear individual sounds – the streams do not merge into a single noisy mass. The owners recommend this model primarily for fans of podcasts and audiobooks. However, with RnB and heavy music, they cope surprisingly well.

TOZO Sound App

This model does not need EQ tuning, although TOZO usually requires sound tuning from the box. Here you can use them right away. The balance is good. You can install the TOZO app, but unlike earbuds, it has a very low rating. We recommend using a third-party compatible equalizer. The effect will be greater.

You can download TOZO Sound from Google Play or the App Store. Visually it looks advanced – switching the available functions, equalizer, and different modes. However, in practice, TOZO Sound does not see many models of headphones.

Important: The model does not have a “transparent mode”. This means that you will not hear the world around you, and when working dangerously or crossing the road, it is recommended to remove the headphones.

Microphone

The microphone is not the strongest point here, although there are 2. TOZO has better noise cancellation and sound processing models, like the NC7. But you will be heard if the calls are not related to professional activities, even on the street, with low ambient noise. Of course, you should not expect a clear voice, but for everyday life is enough, but professionals need completely different equipment.

Meaningful: Headphones work in a pair and individually. When making calls, this rule also works, so if necessary, the second earphone can be put on charge, communicating and controlling the ring with one.

How to Connect TOZO A1 Mini to iPhone or Android

TOZO A1 Mini uses Bluetooth 5.3, which is cool considering the device’s price. You can get acquainted with Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities here, there are useful functions and technologies, but the main thing that ordinary users will notice is the stability of sound transmission without delays and jerks, as well as fast connection.

Already standard for this brand, the connection here is one step – turn on the Bluetooth on the device and take the earbuds out of the case. The name is “TOZO-A1.” If you have problems with the connection, try again or review the instructions – in the “Reset” section.

If the TOZO A1 doesn’t connect or the charging case does not close with the headphones, it is a defect, make a return.

Functionality

Something unusual in the A1 Mini is not. But you can receive calls and manage tracks using the touch control. You can also turn on voice command mode. The charging case is small and compact and supports charging one earphone. Given the price and size, as well as the minimalistic design of the device, it is difficult to blame the manufacturer – it has everything the average user needs but without the frills.

Controls

Almost all headphones of this brand have good touch controls. Sometimes there is a problem with the sensor being too sensitive, but not here. The controls are as follows:

• One touch: start/pause, accept/reset” call for “L” and “R”;
• Two taps: “L” previous track, “R”; next;
• Three taps: activate voice assistant;
• Hold for 2 seconds: end call, adjust the volume on the wireless headphones.

In general, the control is intuitive. The sensors work well first, and no phantom presses are observed.

Battery Life

Bluetooth headphones must hold a charge. Otherwise, they lose their meaning. Even if they are super compact models – headphones are useless. The charging time of TOZO A1 doesn’t exceed 1.5 hours, and it’s possible to give a small discount, but to scold A1 Mini doesn’t want especially: claimed 6 hours they hold properly, so those who take them know what they buy. Again, 6 hours is enough for a day, but you can recharge on the go and even use one earpiece. The charging case can give you another 24 hours of use or 3 full charges.
