It is impossible to imagine TOZO NC9 Plus without comparing it to the younger model because the price has doubled. It is important to understand what you are overpaying for and whether the new functionality is worth it. Let’s look at the strengths of the model, which the manufacturer points out – noise reduction, protection, and autonomy, as well as look for the shortcomings that are not seen behind the dry characteristics.

First Look

The earbuds are heavier than the regular NC9 version, which is justified by the high-capacity battery. There is a convenient charge indicator, and the headphones look stylish and fit well in your ears. The high water protection standard allows you to use them in all conditions and not fear for safety.

As a result, the model is suitable for sports and travel. However, thanks to the call noise cancellation, you can also use them for talking and working in the office. But if you’re looking for more affordable headphones for communication, consider the NC7.

Design

The updated TOZO NC9 version received the prefix “Plus”, but the design remained virtually unchanged. These are standard in-ear headphones without feet. The front side has a charge indicator, the letters “R” and “L” a stylish open circle, and a microphone hole.

The case is neat, with a glossy border. At the top is a big “TOZO” inscription. There is a slot to open the lid, and under it, four LED charge indicators, below, protected by special sleeves USB Type-C and USB 2.0 connectors for charging the phone. The case, like the headphones, is fully waterproof and can withstand immersion in water.

Inside the case lid is marked with technical information, the charging slots are signed, and there is a digital charge indicator for the case and a segment indicator for each earphone.

Protection Grade

Are these TOZO earbuds waterproof? Yes, and they’re much better protected than the younger model. The IPX8 standard allows them to withstand sweat, drips, water flow from various angles, and even brief immersion up to 1m. In addition, the headphones and the case are also protected – they’re completely sealed, so you can use them in any weather.

Ergonomics

The headphones themselves are quite comfortable. They are anatomically shaped and fit well with the body in the shell and the cushions in the ear canal. So, yes, you will be able to run in them. However, they won’t fall out or create discomfort – the silicone caps are made of a material with reduced pressure.

Be sure to match your ear cushion size. Comfort and sound quality depend on it.

Sound

The model does not differ much from its younger version, which is not surprising: it uses the same 9.2 mm stereo speaker and the same version of Bluetooth 5.0 for sound transmission.

The model has Transparency Mode, allowing you to hear the sounds around you when needed. The treble and bass are good, but the middle quality suffers. You can’t tune the sound with the official TOZO Sound equalizer. The model is not supported.

TOZO NC9 Plus shows normal sound quality, but you should not expect any heights – the sound, in contrast to the other characteristics here, remained unchanged, and for its price, it is good.

Microphone

The model has good active noise cancellation, consisting of three layers. The first creates an anti-noise for the sounds from the outside, the second cut out the sounds inside the ear, and the third is the silicone ear cushions, which prevent the sound from penetrating with up to 90% efficiency.

The noise-canceling microns here are 6; their number has not changed since the regular version. They do their job well and filter out unnecessary noise, sometimes cutting off some of the owner’s emotions and voice.

The quality of the microphones and ANC noise cancellation allows you to use the headphones for work and calls. In addition, the ear cushions do not let sound through, and those around you will not be disturbed by your music or the person you are talking to, which is good for the office.

Connecting

The earbuds connect to any Windows, iOS, and Android device with Bluetooth. To connect, you need to:

• Activate Bluetooth;
• Take the headphones out of the case;
• Select “TOZO -NC9 Plus” from the list.

The model has a one-step pairing function so that the earphones find the previously paired device themselves after the first connection.

• Tap and hold: end the conversation, turn down “L” and add the “R” sound.

Battery Life

The NC9 Plus has a battery life of 8 hours of music listening at 50% volume and up to 160 (real tests somewhere around 152) hours with the case. An impressive 2500 mAh of battery life, but you can charge your headphones and other devices thanks to the USB 2.0 connector.

Fast and wireless charging is supported. However, the wireless device is not included. Look out for TOZO W3 Mini Wireless Charger or similar.
